About Me.

    Hi, I’m Yusuf. Growing up near an Air Force base, I developed a fascination with flight that would become a guiding force in my life. Observing aircraft sparked a curiosity about the science and engineering behind their power and precision. Driven by this fascination, I spent countless hours as a kid reading encyclopedias, exploring topics from propulsion systems to materials science, and building a strong analytical foundation that I continue to rely on today.

    This early curiosity led me to seek out meaningful experiences that could bring my academic interests to life. One of my most rewarding experiences was working on a research project at Eskişehir Technical University, where I collaborated with my teacher and classmates to synthesize activated carbon from horse chestnut. This project was both challenging and rewarding, involving multiple rounds of experimentation, analysis, and problem-solving. The experience taught me the value of perseverance and adaptability in the face of complex challenges and solidified my commitment to applying scientific knowledge in practical, impactful ways.

    Beyond my academic interests, I’m driven by a love for physical challenges that cultivate focus and resilience. Scuba diving, in particular, has been an experience that reshaped my understanding of exploration and adaptability. Each dive offers a new environment that requires focus, calm, and adaptability—traits I value highly in both my personal and academic pursuits. These experiences taught me to approach challenges with a balanced and disciplined mindset, which I believe is crucial for any field.

    Looking ahead, I’m excited to bring my passion and curiosity into aerospace engineering, where I hope to contribute to meaningful advancements in propulsion and sustainability. I believe that engineering holds the potential to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges, and I am committed to developing the skills and knowledge needed to make a positive impact.
